2 DAY POTTY TRAINING SCHEDULE

As I mentioned in how to potty train your toddler in only 2 days, our toddler gave us the “signal” that he was ready to be potty trained.

Once he did, we implemented a potty training schedule into our daily routine, and we got it done in only 2 days.

Our potty training schedule was very simple. All we did was take him to the bathroom every 2 hours for 2 days. From the moment he woke up to right before bed.

Our toddler wakes up at around 6:30am every day. But you don’t have to get up that early. If you’re a lucky mom and your toddler wakes up later, feel free to change it up to whatever hours work best for you.

You can use this potty training chart to keep track of how many times your toddler has pottied throughout the day.

POTTY TRAINING TIPS

Your child may only pee a few drops the first few times, and that’s okay. You can try asking if they have to pee again right after to prevent any accidents later.

Remember to say “potty” every time that you take your toddler to the toilet. That way, they are continuously reminded of the word and knows what to say when they have to let you know that they have to go.

It’s important to follow the potty training schedule and take your toddler to the toilet every 2 hours because your child will not be using diapers. Allowing your baby to roam around without a diaper is the best way to potty train (I’ll explain why later).

You will probably have to clean up a few potty accidents, remember to stay calm and be patient will your little one.

It’s going to be hard to get your toddler to poop in the toilet and it will take longer than just 2 days to get them poop trained. Don’t give up !

Make sure you buy a potty toilet that your toddler will like. I chose this Elmo potty toilet from Amazon for my toddler because it has a flush handle that plays Elmo phrases and flushing sounds that he loves. I feel like it encouraged him to pee just to flush and hear the sounds.

COMMON POTTY TRAINING QUESTIONS ANSWERED

You’re going to have many questions before and while potty training and I am here to answer them for you. These are the most common questions you’ll have when potty training.

WHEN SHOULD I START POTTY TRAINING?

If you read my previous post where I share how I was able to potty train my toddler in only 2 days, you’ll know that your toddler will actually let you know when they’re ready to be potty trained.

Remember that one thing I mentioned you must do before you start to potty train with a schedule? Well, there it is. You must first prepare your child to potty train before you actually potty train and you can do that easily.

In how to potty train your toddler in only 2 days, I explain in detail how to prepare your toddler, so that once they give you the “signal” showing that they’re ready, you can start the schedule and potty train in 2 days.

SHOULD WE USE PULL UPS WHEN POTTY TRAINING?

Using Pull Ups when potty training is one of the worse potty training mistakes you could ever make.

Pull Ups only confuses your child, what you need to do is let your toddler be naked. This is the best thing to do because you’ll be able to see when they potty and you’ll be able to correct them right away.

If they have a pull up, they’ll think they can still potty on it. Pull Ups are still diapers, the only difference is they can be pulled up and down and, they’re more expensive.

SHOULD WE STOP DIAPERS AT NIGHT TOO?

Night time potty training is different than day time potty training. Day time potty training can be done as fast as 2 days however night time potty training can take longer.

When you first start potty training you should keep a diaper on your toddler at night because at that age they’re not able to hold it in all night.

It’s now been 1 month since we finished potty training and my toddler still wears diapers at night. I haven’t figured out how were going to night time potty train but once we do, I’ll be sharing some tips.

WHEN WILL MY TODDLER POOP IN THE POTTY TOILET?

Getting your toddler to poop in the toilet for the first time is not going to be as easy as getting them to pee. My advice to you is to prepare yourself to pick up poo from the floor because it will probably happen.

And make sure to correct your child and make it clear that they should be pooping in the potty and not on the floor or anywhere else.
